FFTC Director Dr. Yu-Tsai Huang and Datuk Dr. Sharif Bin Haron, Director General of the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with both parties agreeing to strengthen, facilitate, promote and develop scientific and technological cooperation in the areas of agriculture on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
The signing of the MOU coincided with the recently held international workshop on “Effective IP Protection and Commercialization Strategies for Agricultural Innovation” at the MARDI headquarters in Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia.
The agreement includes the encouragement of joint research and development projects, capacity and institution building through training, program, workshops, etc., dissemination of information on scientific, technical and economic matters concerning agriculture and other forms of cooperation to be determined and mutually agreed upon by both parties.
At the formal opening ceremony of the said workshop, Director Huang and Dr. Haron expressed their full support to the renewed partnership between FFTC and MARDI.
FFTC Director Dr. Yu-Tsai Huang and the Datuk Dr. Sharif Bin Haron, Director General of the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) hold the MOU document which they recently signed during a special program at the opening of their joint international workshop in Malaysia. The MOU is a solid testament to the strengthened partnership between FFTC and MARDI.
